With a heave of his breath, Klaus pushes away from the tree. There is no time to rest; he must carry on. Worry crawled around in his belly, making him sick. When he last saw his sister, she was running at full speed through the forest. There has to be a reason for it.
Perhaps Estraeah spotted him and took off, he concedes. That is possible. But she said nothing to him, didn't acknowledge him at all. That worries him.
Klaus follows the path Estraeah left for him, up and over the hill. At the top, he sees a suspicious sight. Before him is a pond surrounded by pebbles, and a cave lies behind it. He doesn't remember Estraeah ever mentioning it, but knowing her, this is the exact kind of place she would barge into.
